Mason County Garden Club announces the Garden of the Month for June located at 603 N. Harrison St in Ludington.

Industrious homeowners Grace and Phil Such have turned this lovely property into a gardeners delight. The beds encircle the house and most can be viewed from the front sidewalk and alley.

They have used annuals, perennials, herbs, shrubs and trees. The sound of water draws you into the yard; each water feature unique as there are six or seven of them. One is a reclaimed bathtub spigot. The creativity of this couple knows no bounds. They have used Marbles to accent a fence, ends of a baby crib for a garden gate, a faux rabbit hutch, two adorable garden sheds to sit in and rest a while, and a privacy fence that allows them to sit in their patio in quiet. The privacy fence becomes a backdrop for more hosts, lilies, azalea, clematis and rocks.

Grace is a bit of a “Rock Hound” and she shows them off in her many flower beds. A River Birch in the backyard provides shade and she has planted varieties of hostas around the base. Allium are in bloom now as is the 30-40 year old Rhododendron. Take a walk around Harrison St and stop to enjoy this lovely garden!
