In Reading, the average property price reached £355,000 in December 2025, up 1.2 per cent compared to the previous year.
Detached homes in the area averaged £713,000, while semi-detached and terraced properties were £445,000 and £357,000 respectively.
Flat prices stood at around £230,000.
However, postcode-level data suggests a softer market in some areas, with the average property price closer to £460,000 – a two per cent drop year-on-year.
Sales volumes have also declined, with transactions down more than 16 per cent across the wider Reading postcode area.
Despite the slowdown in sales, the lettings market remains robust.
Private rents grew by 4.3 per cent to £1,583 in January 2026, driven by ongoing demand from London commuters and tech workers.
Similar increases were reported for terraced properties and flats.
