I’m slowly removing my front yard grass. My zucchini have grown a lot and I’ve spaced some of them out. I’ve started adding grass clippings from when I cut the grass. I noticed it helps retain moisture around the plants.
I also noticed a lot of those big brown spiders like to live in the clippings. I think they are helping with keeping pests away 🥰🥰🥰
Someone suggested I plant melons so I bought some seeds and today I planted the seedlings. So we’ll see what happens. Then right in front of my house I planted a bunch of purple coneflower seeds. They are native and perennial so hopefully they manage to grow big enough before winter.
