A secret lavender garden that has proved a hit with Instagrammers is reopening later this month.
Located in Epsom, Mayfield Lavender’s Secret Lavender Garden is an idyllic 12-acre site and will reopen to the public from Monday, June 15, 2026.
Run by the same team behind Mayfield Lavender Farm in Banstead, the quieter sister site grows three different varieties of lavender, Grosso, Folgate and Hidcote, which bloom throughout June and July.
Co-owner Lorna Maye said: “We created the Secret Lavender Garden to offer something a little different, a slower, more intimate way to experience summer among the lavender.”
The site features a number of photo spots, including a Sleepy Hollow walkway, a heart-shaped bench, a purple keyhole door and a traditional red telephone box, all set among rows of vibrant purple flowers.
New for 2026, the attraction is introducing structured time slots called Lavender Daze and Sunset Sessions, designed to give visitors a more relaxed and less crowded experience.
Lavender Daze offers daytime access for those looking to wander through the fields, while Sunset Sessions take place in the evening, allowing guests to enjoy golden-hour views, photography opportunities and drinks among the lavender.
The reopening will also be marked with a special open-air cinema weekend from Friday, June 12, held in partnership with Picturehouse Outdoor Cinema.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a range of food and drink options on site. The Glasshouse Café is open daily, serving breakfast, coffee, lunches and seasonal specials, while an outdoor Airstream café will operate in the evenings.
This will offer a selection of hot food, baked goods and drinks, including lavender-themed refreshments such as lavender lemonade, iced lattes, cocktails, Pimms and mocktails.
Guests are also welcome to bring their own picnics to enjoy in the gardens.
What you need to know
The Secret Lavender Garden is located at 139 Reigate Road in Epsom, around an hour from central London and just a 10-minute drive from the main Mayfield Lavender Farm in Banstead.
It will be open to the public from June 15 until August 23, 2026, with a special open-air cinema launch weekend beginning on June 12.
Opening hours vary throughout the week.
On Mondays, visitors can attend daytime sessions between 10am and 5pm. From Thursday to Sunday, there are staggered sessions running from 3.30pm to 5.30pm and 5.30pm to 7.30pm, followed by sunset sessions between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. The garden is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Ticket prices start at £7.50 for adults and £2.50 for children aged four to 11 during daytime sessions. Sunset sessions cost £10 for adults and £4.50 for children.
Entry is free for children under four, and a family ticket for two adults and two children is available for £18. Visitors are advised to book in advance as entry on the day cannot be guaranteed.
