ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Gardeners, plant lovers and families spent the weekend exploring the annual Garden Fair at Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden.

The event featured dozens of vendors selling plants, flowers, garden decor, antiques and artwork, along with food and live music throughout the weekend.

Organizers say the Garden Fair has become a tradition for many visitors, with some families returning year after year.

“I think for me, some of it is sometimes they’ll bring their kids with them. I’ve seen some of the kids come back year after year and they grow up and then they become gardeners. So, after coming here for 12 years, seeing some of those kids grow up and then come and be, you know, somebody that’s purchasing a plant for their first house or they’re with their mom,” Michelle Cox Owner of The Landscape Connection said.

Now in its 32nd year, the Garden Fair serves as one of Klehm Arboretum’s largest annual fundraisers. Proceeds from the event support the arboretum’s gardens, educational programs and ongoing maintenance efforts.

Vistors also had the opportunity to hear from guest’s speakers representing the Morton Arboretum and the Chicago Region Initiative, who shared information on gardening, horticulture and tree care.

The Garden Fair runs through Sunday June 7th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Klehm Arboretum. Tickets are available online or at the entrance, with free admission for Klehm members and children 12 and under.
