From outdoor transplant to harvest in a month is as close to instant gratification as gardening can get I’d say!

What other plants to you feel like give you that quick gratification and give you a boost? What have you found is like that for the summer season?

I love the salad box idea! I’ve seen others do it and I’m gonna do a few myself this year to save space in the ground.

Now I just need some appropriate boxes…

Bush green beans are a really fast crop.  They are easy to blanch and freeze for the winter if you grow too many.

My only problem with lettuce is that I have too much in the spring and none in summer 😅

Lettuce was such a surprise to me. It didn’t do a whole lot for the first month getting settled outside, but then it just started growing and growing and now I have an endless supply of lettuce all summer. When I harvest some it’s usually back to where it was in like 2-3 days 🤷‍♂️ and it’s on the roof, far away from snails and other pests.

Very cool idea using the big tote as a raised bed! So satisfying how quickly the lettuce grows in.
