Our first year with a meaningful black berry harvest. Over 10 lbs and we picked about a quarter of the berries! There's still tons of underripe berries and even a few dozen flowers!

We will eat plenty fresh, give some away, and freeze the rest.

Any ideas or recipes, storage tips, or other thoughts/ideas on what to do with all the berries?

Beautiful setup! I’d love to know how you planted these. Formation, how many plants, how close to each other the plants are, how you’re supporting them, annual feeding regimens, etc. I’ll be starting my own blackberry grove soon and I’m still working all this out.

Thank you so much for sharing!

What a great haul of berries!

I’d make berry juice and freeze it to use for icees/slushies, teas or just drinking plain juice.

We make tart cherry juice using our instant pot. I would guess you could use the same for blackberries.

I freeze the cherries in gallon Ziploc bags and then make the juice about once a month or sometimes I make a lot of juice and then freeze them in mason jars, being careful to leave plenty of a room for freezing expansion.

  3. Blackberry jam, blackberry scones, blackberry tarts (with rhubarb is also good). Enjoy.

    Blackberry glaze on salmon

    Blackberry waffle syrup

Blackberry on your fresh salad. And/or blavkberry balsamic dressing.

butter mochi and once the batter is mixed, stud it with as many berries as you’d like
