On instagram i searched for my location +cactus and found a seller. I messaged him how much some of them are (one of them was astros) and he said they are his personal collection and he is not selling them. He also said he is arranging his astros and he can give me the ones he does not want for free.

He even brought them to his office which is closer to my home! He had to leave early so he left the astros outside of his office and told me to pick them up. When I went to pick them up I was surprised with all these astros! I was expecting a few of them.

I have had succulents for a year now but I learned astros are harder.

I plan to have ~60% perlite ~40% cacti soil in ~5.5 cm plastic nursery pots. I might not have enough pots so i might have to use the trays (the ones you see on the last image). I think with trays they will dry slower when i water.

**I appreciate any tips!**

I have some astros and they’ve been alive for years with nothing special. I put them in terra cotta pots, miracle gro cactus mix, and they’re sitting in a Rubbermaid bottom that is the size to slide under a bed with some other succulents. They are mulched with either a bag of river rock or aquarium gravel. About once every two weeks I fill up the Rubbermaid with water to the halfway-ish point. They’ve been in a west/southwest facing window for their entire lives. Just don’t look at them too much you’ll be fine!
