Frankie’s Garden Street Caffe is preparing to open its doors on Garden Street in San Luis Obispo (SLO).
The shop is taking the place of SLO Delicious Bakery, which closed in November 2025.
The upcoming cafe will be the third coffee shop in the community.
But Frankie’s is bringing a unique twist.
The cafe will sell a mix of Italian-inspired flavored coffees, shakeratos, and espresso.
“Think Prosciutto di Parma, not pumpkin spice. This is grab-and-go for people with taste. The kind of place you’d find on a side street in Florence, except it’s on the corner of Garden & Marsh,” its website reads.
The shop will further sell pastries, schiacciata sandwiches, and more food options alongside a wine selection in the afternoons.
The café owners found inspiration for the Italian twist from La Locanda, an Italian restaurant in the community.
Additionally, according to Frankie’s Instagram, its owners regularly travel to Italy itself to do culinary “research.”
They have called Frankie’s La Locanda’s “younger sister” and the kind of place one would find on a side street in Florence.
According to Frankie’s Instagram, the café is currently hiring for baristas, back-of-house team members, and other positions.
If any locals want to learn more information about the café or its opening, they can contact ciao@frankiesongarden.com.
