Now in its fifth year, WOW!house returns to Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, SW10 today – and it’s bigger and bolder than ever. 22 rooms and outdoor spaces, imagined by a mix of established studios and rising stars from around the globe, create a show house unlike any other. Realised in collaboration with the centre’s resident interiors brands, the presentation is brimming with inspiration for both design professionals and enthusiasts.
This year’s featured designers include a raft of HG101 talent. These include: Darren Price from Adam Architecture who has created the facade the Garden Folly and Facade that greets the visitors; Francis Sultana, who sought inspiration from grand homes across the UK to create the soaring entrance hall, and Albion Nord, which has created a grand drawing room designed to showcase the craftsmanship of luxury heritage fabric and wallpaper house Turnell & Gigon. Elicyon has created The Lalique Home Bar to spotlight the French luxury glassmaker’s work in a brand new light and New York-based designer Young Huh has imagined a Mondrian-inspired salon bursting with colour, pattern and a selection of collectible design and museum-worthy craft.
‘The scale has grown, creativity surged, and expectations have risen, but the constant is community,’ says Claire German, CEO, Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour. ‘Over the years we have forged a stronger, more connected industry, one with shared purpose and renewed momentum. We are very proud of what WOW!house has become and if the past five years were this remarkable – just imagine what the next five years will bring.’
With influences as wide-ranging as neoclassical architecture, north African textiles, Japanese woodwork and Korean folk art, there is no limit to the inspiration on offer at this year’s showcase which is set to be the biggest yet.
