Shoppers at B&M can make savings of over £30 by opting for B&M over B&Q for their garden

Garden makeovers don’t have to cost a fortune, and B&M is hoping to prove exactly that with a new range of outdoor furniture, accessories and quirky decorative pieces ahead of summer.
The discount retailer, which operates more than 700 stores across the UK and Ireland, is selling one item it says will “add light” to gardens, patios, windows and doorways. Better still, it comes with a budget-friendly price tag of just £10.
Describing the Solar Powered Coloured Light Bulb String LED Lights, B&M said: “This Solar Powered 12 Coloured Light Bulb String Light is perfect for adding light to your garden borders, decking area, window & doorways. Perfect for brightening up the garden and adding some fun.”
The solar-powered lights feature 12 warm white LEDs spread across a 1.9m length and housed inside colourful bulb-shaped lanterns in shades of green, blue and pink.
Designed to hang from trees, fences, pergolas or around doorways, they come with a rechargeable battery and a dual-function switch, allowing users to choose between a steady glow, a flashing mode or turning them off completely. A three-metre lead wire also offers added flexibility when positioning them around the garden.

To sweeten the appeal of the deal even further, it bears a striking resemblance to similar alternatives available elsewhere on the market. B&Q, for example, is selling the 10 Bulb Festoon Lights Multi Coloured for £47.99 – almost £38 more expensive than B&M’s version.
These 10-bulb B&Q festoon lights are designed for both indoor and outdoor use. The low-voltage set contains 50 multicoloured LEDs in total – five per bulb – and features multi-action settings including a static option.
It offers a 4.5-metre lit length alongside a 5-metre lead cable. While the lights are fully weatherproof, the included transformer must be kept indoors. The product comes with a standard statutory guarantee.
