  1. Those irises are beautiful, I find them very difficult to grow because my garden is so dry. That border will look beautiful in a few weeks. My Bowleโ€™s mauve is huge now, this week I have seen my first Painted Lady and today I had 5 feeding on it so it looks like it might be a very good year for Painted Ladys.

  2. The gravel garden is an interesting idea. Most of my garden is gravel that the previous owners put down. Problem is there's layers and layers of weed matting underneath. I've run out of room in the flower beds so I might start thinking about what I can put in the gravel ๐Ÿ˜‚

  3. Very beautiful. That gravel garden is giving me a bit of inspiration, I'm always keen to create more places for viper's bugloss!

  4. Lovely work Joel – this garden is transforming into something very special ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿฆ‹ Really like that long border, complete with a beautiful brimstone no less! ๐Ÿคฉ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒท Bet if anyone lives near the sea they could do an adaptation of the gravel garden with some of our native coastal plants? That would be pretty unusual and wonderful to see! ๐Ÿค”

  5. Great to see you are able to repurpose many of the existing elements of the garden like the lawn and pavers! I've always liked your gate and fence work; I'm a fan of hardscapes too.

  6. Do you talk to the owners about poisonous plant concerns? Foxglove is very poisonous for dogs. Otherwise, another beautiful transformation.

  7. Great Job my friend Joel, your friend Alberto and the others did a great Job; as a enthusiast of plants I must to say l liked so mucho๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ˜€

  8. Whats good about that border is knowing that I've got most of those in the borders I've planted on my estate. It means I'm doing something right ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Joel, do you ever seed annuals when starting a border, just to get the gaps filled in the first year. I find it helps keep some of the thuggish weeds under control. That border is going to look great next year!

  9. Lovely video. Your videos are both relaxing and full of new things to learn. I saw a giant butterfly on my sage flowers today. It's been crazy weather here. Cold and rainy, now insanely hot. So it was lovely to see the butterfly. They've gotten rare in France. I think this was a 'large wall brown' (?) or 'numรฉsien' in French. Yay.

  10. As always mate, another excellent video and transformation.

Need to find a spot for a gravel garden now, need to stop watching your videos, costing me and the owners a fortune.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

  11. Lucky folk, that's looking great Joel, what a fabulous space to work with #staying tuned ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ€

  12. lovely upgrade, Joel. an update in some weeks would be lovely.
I do have a bit of a frown ๐Ÿคจ choosing holly to cover that hole in the privet hedge.

  13. The garden will be a pollinators dream when it grows and fills out also looking forward to seeing a new wildlife pond next year.

  14. Amazing! ๐Ÿคฉ looks stunning already & the potential is exciting. I've been watching your videos and taking tips from you and I now have a whole host of birds coming and feeding in my garden, its such a pleasure to see. I've made friends with a little robin which has made my year. I've also taken to planting solely for pollinators now too and the bee visits are incredible. Love your work ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป keep the inspiration flowing, you're great ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป thank you for sharing

  15. Hi Joel, please take some consideration for plants which are wildlife friendly BUT pet unfriendly/dangerous. Foxglove is lethal to dogs and cats. I would like to see this mentioned going forward as it's quite a broad category that endangers our beloved pets. I've had to make significant changes to my household plants and garden plants to accommodate my cats and our neighbours wandering cats too. Love the channel.

  16. I was about to say its a little over planted joel..))) First year nothing much happens and they get bust over autumn winter spreading under ground and then the action really starts and that border will look amazing. great job.

  17. Love seeing videos like this showing lived in gardens which aren't "Instagram perfect" but are beautiful in their own right and wonderful for nature. I've planted a new border but have let a certain number of weeds survive as the insects seem to love them. Great job to you and the owners!

  18. It's all looking fab! That is an amazing garden space! I love all the different shades of purple. I have iris, I hope it spreads. I was wondering if I put nepeta in the ground would it spread like crazy but since you have it planted direct, I may plant it direct too. I love the lavender either side of the little path, beautiful. I have that mauve wallflower thingy in my front garden and it has got big and it really flowers for a long time. I got another one out the back garden. My honesty is all white and I let it take over the end bed, it looks so cool but it does take 2 years to flower. I was thinking of taking it out to put in rhubarb, idk I love how wild it is but want rhubarb too, it is currently in a tub!
The colours of those acers are stunning. There is a great energy in this garden ๐Ÿฉท๐ŸŒฑ

  19. Another great video! Loved seeing the mix of the two main areas- herbaceous and gravel. Gave me some good ideas. I couldnโ€™t catch the names of the two varieties of lavender you mentioned as being especially good for wildlife. Need to replace some and will use these if you pop their names in. Also want to take the opportunity to congratulate you on your pond at home- it outrageously amazing! Enjoy you really deserve it!

  20. โค๏ธ the garden. ๐Ÿชด ๐Ÿช I need to remove ragwort in bits of my lawn. Only 2 bits ๐Ÿชด are growing in the right places down at the bottom of my back garden where I let it go wild. Got bits of ๐Ÿชต small twigs etc which is full of different insects ๐Ÿœ ๐Ÿชฒ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

  21. Gorgeous! Love the border, beautiful gate. Lol the pond, sure you will make that fantastic. My minipond is full of duckweed, I find it hard to get all out without removing bits of other plants and snails (few surving small frogbits and a water forget me not.) My grandfathers lilly of the valley is blooming everywhere. Iโ€™m watering at the cottage. Not all natives I have planted make it when I canโ€™t be here, same with roses they look terrible. Wish I didnโ€™t have to go home. Birds and squirrels busy, and one or two queen bumblebees enjoying the first rhododendrons. Brimstone and blue butterflies, and on my first day I saw an orange tip. Today a magpie (I suspect) managed to remove a suet ball feeder which has an inbuilt cage around it and empty it. Picked it off the tree actually.

  22. Starting to look wonderful . Have been renovating my garden myself , so hopefully will see some good ideas ๐Ÿ˜Š

  23. Great video Joel, I absolutely love watching the transformations and canโ€™t wait to come back next year to see it establishing!
Another great job for wildlife x

  24. It's cool seeing what natives you have in your area. I am a year away from getting to start gardens at my new home and i am so excited. My goal is at least 90% native i love seeing the wildlife enjoying the same spaces as me.

It's interesting seeing the birds foot trefoil as a native they are invasive where I live.
