Hahaha yes! Also shred your zucchini before freezing it instead of making zucchini breads to freeze. It works for making zucchini bread in the winter and doesn't take as much space or get freezer burnt!
I remember planting this last year the exact plant but instead in two months it became giant like abt almost five feet tall and wide , at the end i got squash four tomes bigger than my phone , and i got like seven of them from the two plants that got massive. I literally had to cut the squash off the plant with a literally long bread knitfe , and even that took about , uh , a minute to cut each stem
I've tried multiple times up here in Northern California and literally no matter what I cover the plants in the bugs will just not leave them alone and stop devouring them. It gets to the point where I have to use so many sprays and powders that the plants actually start to suffer once the intense Sun hits them and I just can't keep the bugs away, mostly pincher bugs . It wasn't worth the amount of time that I had to spend and the amount of water that had to go into them when it's brutally hot and dry up here
Bonus tip! If your zucchini only has male flowers, use a Q-tip to collect pollen that you can use later to hand pollinate once your plant is no longer a sausage party
I'm gunna be real with you guys, if you have any sanity do not do this. I repeat, DO NOT DO THIS. You will have way too many squash fruits and you'll get sick of them and never eat them again
This year I had the opposite problem from what i usually do. I planted two zucchini and saw a couple of weeks later that they were covered in FEMALE blossom buds. So i went to the nursery and bought six more zucchini plants that had male blossom buds nearly ready. To my regret, it took them two weeks to finally open any male blossoms, and the female blossoms kept opening and falling off during that time. But now I have a ton of both kinds of blossom, so I'm about to be swamped ๐
I cut it up, dehydrate it, and freeze it for winter soups.
Thatโs SO funny!!! Squash, doorbell ditch! ๐๐คฃ๐ค๐ I love it! I want to do that with a box of fresh produce. It might really help someone out in need. A random act of kindness. A blessing. Iโm quite inspired by this. ๐
In the South we donโt lock our cars. So my excess squash gets deposited into the passenger seats of random unlocked vehicles ๐ How do you creatively unload your excess harvest?????

Currently growing purple and blue tomatoes, this is my first time as usual I only grow chillies. Do you have any advice in terms of watering?
Mine got devoured by slugs last night.
This seems like a suggestive calling card.
For the squash doorbell ditch technique you also need to leave a bottle of baby oil next to the door for it to work the best

I'm going to try the vertical method for the first time this year ๐
You didn't do the ditch right, there should be at least 10 pounds.
How do you combat the unrelenting Squash Vine Borer?
Jamming! Nice
zucchini bread, giving it away by force, and letting them grow to absurd sizes to impress people.
Mmmmmmmmmmโค๐
So I might have enough to sacrifice to the new groundhog that immediately knee-capped the tomato plants I had started.

Squash's are very different in the UK, this is a courgette to us.
Mine got taken out by squash bugs last year ๐คข I love zucchini, but the pests were enough of a problem, never again.

In Yuma, I can't get it to grow! In far-nor-cal it was easy. In the desert, na.
