My location is southeastern Wisconsin. It's been about 80 degrees in the day and 55 at night (25/12 C). Every time I try growing cucumbers, they perish rather quickly!

The white patches on these leaves do not rub off, but seem slightly raised/ crispy They are less pronounced on the smaller leaves.

They are store bought starts- is it transplant damage? Lots of insects here as well including cucumber beetles and aphids, but none seen on the plants.

Usually I'd just research online but there was a lot of conflicting information, so any advice would be appreciated!

From what I just looked up (because I’m not a cucumber expert but I like plants), it seems like it’s either transplant shock or since they were store bought, it might be that maybe you didn’t harden them off outside before transplanting.(?) Those are my two guesses, I’d lean towards a little combo of both maybe to be honest and just treat them as if they were transplant shocked. A little TLC never hurt haha!

I don’t know if you like watching videos to learn but you could also try doing that to find out what the culprit is, as well as just gaining some knowledge for your own tool belt!

Thanks for the advice, everyone. The common consensus seems to be that I put the plants in full sun too soon, and they are sun scalded. The magnifying effect of water on the leaves might have amplified this.
