In this video, I’m showing how I use surveyor’s markers and fiberglass poles around the garden and farm to keep track of fragile plants, rows, hills, newly planted trees, and other important locations. 🚩🌱
Small plants can easily disappear under mulch, weeds, leaves, or fast spring growth. Marking them clearly helps prevent accidental damage from mowing, weedeating, tilling, spraying, or even simply stepping in the wrong spot. These markers are especially useful when planting seeds that take time to emerge or when transplanting tiny starts into large garden spaces.
I also use the markers to organize rows, identify planting areas, and mark small trees planted around the farm until they become established. In some locations, I later replace the temporary flags with more permanent fiberglass poles for long-term visibility.
This is one of those simple, low-cost tools that quietly makes gardening and homestead management much easier. I usually pick mine up at Tractor Supply, though most feed stores and farm supply stores carry them.
