Creating rock borders for my flower beds completely changed the look and shape of this area in my backyard garden. In this gardening video, I’m building natural-looking flower bed borders with rocks while continuing the transformation of my cottage-style garden here in Zone 5 gardening conditions. This project actually started as a spontaneous idea, but once I began shaping the beds and placing the rock edging, everything started coming together in a way that felt much more organized and peaceful. 🌿
If you enjoy backyard gardening, flower bed projects, garden edging ideas, landscaping with rocks, perennial gardening, and real-life garden transformations, this video is part of the ongoing process of building my dream garden one section at a time. I’m sharing the real work, the creative decisions, and the progress as I slowly turn this space into a relaxing and beautiful backyard retreat. 🌸

  1. Last summer i found free rocks as well …me and my granddaughter had fun putting them along my driveway…good find rocks are costly..😊looks good..

  2. So i used to have a lot of rock borders and i ended up taking all of them out because in my particular area, my weed pressure is so high that the borders would be infested with dandelions and other free seeding plants that I'd have to dismantle the border to be able to clean them up and weed them.

And then i realized i created a perfect habitat for voles. So i got rid of them all and i don't do full rock borders anymore.

Now this could have just been my experience and your borders look great! But i definitely had to totally change my design style – i still like to have rock in the garden, but in much smaller concentrations.

  3. Love the deal you got on those big old rocks. I love the way it looks love the blue on your home and I love the music. Great job, Liz.

  4. Your in the same zone as me 🇨🇦….do you think some pole been vibes would block some of the noise from that road ?
