A man was found in a Wirral garden after a nearby school was broken into last night. At 11.35pm, Merseyside Police received a report of forced entry at St Peter’s Primary School on St Peter’s Way in Noctorum, with damage being caused and items stolen.

A police spokesperson told the ECHO that cash and a CCTV hard drive was taken. Officers attended the scene and at 11.59pm, a suspect was located in a garden on Newport Close around the corner and was detained. James Dean, 46, of no fixed abode, has now been charged with burglary other than dwelling.

Dean was remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court today, Tuesday, May 26.
