This garden has changed so much over the past few years. After losing several trees during Hurricane Helene, Brian’s parents’ mountain cottage garden suddenly received far more sunlight than before — completely shifting the feel and planting possibilities of the space.

Now, the garden is evolving into something entirely new. The mix of mountain air, spring color, and layered planting makes this garden feel incredibly peaceful and inspiring.

It’s a reminder that even after major change, gardens continue to evolve — and often become beautiful in entirely unexpected ways. We hope you enjoy this peaceful walk around with Brian’s mom and her gorgeous gardens!

  1. Beautiful ❤ I'm in the same town where this was filmed! We have had the most "normal " spring this year and everything is very beautiful and extra vibrant. So happy that you captured the beauty of our region 🙂

  2. 15:08 I'm jealous she gets plants from S&K! Just love their channel with Justin and Bruce. OFC my favorite gardens are in a warmer zone than here. Love her cottage garden.

  3. So beautiful and a very peaceful garden. It gives a very natural and even a little wild vibe and yet I know there’s a lot of controlled growing and selective planting there. It’s a great balance. Thank you, Susan, for sharing your beautiful garden with us. 💕
