The North Pocono Public Library announced the chairs of the fifth annual Garden Gala, set for Friday, July 10, at the library, 1315 Church St., Moscow. Patty DeScipio, left, Christina Hitchcock, center, and Tracey Smith lead a 19-member committee of enthusiastic library volunteers who share a passion for the library, its unique vegetable and flower gardens, and the North Pocono community. The 2026 Gala theme is the Year of the Tomato, with a suggested guest attire color of any shade of red. The Garden Gala is from 5-8 p.m. both inside among the stacks and outside on the library grounds around and through the vegetable, apprentice and pollinator gardens. Local restaurants provide food samplings and there will be a wide selection of beer, wine and spirits. Live music will be both inside (Kenny Moss) and outside (Wade Preston). There will be basket raffles, a special gift card raffle, and a $2,000 Gas & Grocery Giveaway as part of the festivities. Reservations are $75 per person.
