GREEN-thumbed enthusiasts are being invited to check out a trailblazing Black Isle garden — and play a part inspiring others to follow sustainable practices.
Old Allangrange garden
The afternoon of open gardens, family activities and community fundraising centres on Old Allangrange Gardens, Munlochy, on Sunday, May 31 from noon until 5pm. It’s a part of the Scottish Garden Scheme.
At Old Allangrange there is a formal garden alongside a productive market garden designed with biodiversity and sustainable growing in mind. Visitors can explore thriving no-dig beds, as well as areas of ornamental planting, all designed with wildlife in mind.
There will be refreshments, plants and home baking for sale, as well as music to enjoy. JJ Gladwin will give tours of the ornamental garden at 1pm, 2:30pm, and 4pm.
Jon Dixon, head gardener will be at the market garden to answer any questions.

All proceeds from the day will go to charity, of which 60 per cent of funds raised will support Go Flourish. Go Flourish helps children connect with nature through curriculum learning in the garden at North Kessock, led by primary school teacher Laura Dorantt, who is RHS-trained.
The garden also provides a beautiful space for the wider community through its pilot garden at North Kessock Primary School, which is open to visitors on the same day.

Entry is £8 for adults, children under 13 free, children 13-18 £5.
