LA CROSSE (WKBT) — As the unofficial start to summer arrives, so does gardening season, and the Kane Street Community Garden Plant Fundraiser is giving gardeners a head start.
The fundraiser offers vegetables, flowers, berry bushes and ornamental plants with a suggested donation of $5 per plant.
“We’re using our infrastructure here to help get other people’s gardens growing,” said Dylan Hanneman, manager for the Kane Street Garden. “We’ve got landscaping plants, berry bushes, annuals, all different kinds of crops.”
The proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse, supporting local food access.
