I got this cutie today as a birthday gift and would love some care tips (I hate fighting AI and crummy google articles and would love real human advice).
I have experience with lots of succulents and cacti but I've never had what I think is a crinkle leaf before.

Hi! It seems like you may be new to succulents. If so, we recommend taking a moment to read the [Beginner Basics](https://www.reddit.com/r/succulents/wiki/beginner-basics) wiki and the [FAQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/succulents/wiki/faq) to get up to speed on succulent care and find answers to common questions.
Looking for care information on Lithops or Split Rocks? Check out [their care guide here](https://www.reddit.com/r/succulents/wiki/mesembs_care_guides/).
If you are asking for help, please make sure you adhere to the [Posting Guidelines](https://www.reddit.com/r/succulents/wiki/posting-guidelines); we need a detailed **description**, an explanation of the **environment**, such as sun exposure, soil and watering, and a bit of a **history** to help us make an assessment! And, remember *pictures help a LOT!*
The sidebar (community info on mobile) and search function are also fantastic resources. If you’ve already done all that, then kudos!

Adromischus cristatus needs gritty mix.
This is Adromischus cristatus. I find Adromischus (the 10 or so species I have experience with at least) to be pretty dramatic – once the outer leaves start getting wrinkled and flat, they get a thorough water. This ends up being every week or two, depending on the weather.
just standard succulent care. well draining potting mix, lots of light, good air circulation, water when the leaves aren’t firm, yadda yadda
I love the shape of this! Reminds me of Tortellini
