With temperatures expected to reach as high as 30°C in some parts of the country this bank holiday weekend, now could be the perfect time to upgrade your outdoor furniture. Increasingly high temperatures and sunny weather create the perfect conditions to relax outside with friends and family.
However, if your outdoor furniture is looking a little worse for wear, you could save close to £100 on a new sofa set. This is due to a huge sale at Dunelm, which is offering the Dunelm Malta Rattan Garden Sofa Lounger Set for £230.30 – a 30% price drop on its original £329 price tag.
It comes as Dunelm launched its highly-anticipated 50% sale today (May 21). The sale, which offers half-price on a wide variety of products, includes outdoor furniture, bedding, and other homeware accessories.

The sofa set, described by customers as ‘high quality’, ‘comfortable’ and ‘spacious’, comes with a generous amount of furniture and accessories, including a double sofa, a lounge sofa, and a matching coffee table. While the set is available in a cream and grey colourway, it’s only the latter that is currently included in the sale.
The Malta Garden Sofa Set features a faux rattan design, which should help keep it durable when exposed to outdoor weather while also looking trendy and modern. The set also comes part assembled, helping to cut down on how long it’ll take to put together, allowing you to get comfy much quicker.
The seating is completed with padded cushions upholstered in a water-resistant polyester fabric. However, if you want something slightly different for your garden, there are other options out there.
For example, the Yaheetech 4 Pieces Outdoor Patio Conversation Set is currently available on Amazon at £99 and is rated as the number one best seller. This garden set comes with a coffee table, two small chairs, and a larger sofar in a black and beige colourway.
If you want something more upmarket and larger, you could instead opt for the PHI VILLA Garden Furniture 8 Seater set, which is available on Amazon for £869. This set comes with an L-shaped sofa couch, made of seven separate pieces, as well as a matching coffee table.
The Malta Rattan Garden Soga Lounger Set has earned 4.2 stars on Dunelm’s site, with one customer stating: “I can not wait for nice weather to be able to use this gorgeous garden set. High quality, easy to put together, comfy cushions, just need some sun, and if it’s that hot overnight sometimes, I may sleep outside on it, it is that spacious and comfortable..”
Another added: “Rattan Malta sofa set looks just as good in real life, the cushions are nicely padded and not too thin. Very easy to put together with the clips and only a few screws, only needed a little assistance to hold the sofa/lounger up so I could clip larger parts together. Love it’”
A third said: “Great garden furniture set – good quality and super comfortable. Very happy with the purchase!”
A fourth added: “Lovely garden furniture, easy to put together very comfy, great value for money.” A fifth said: “Very pleased with the set, and it was relatively easy to put together and it is looking good, just need the warmer weather to make full use of it”
However, another customer noted: “Very pleased with this sofa. Bought two in the natural, and you can set it up with the long part at either end. Put them together on my own, instructions are easy to follow. Deducted one star as there’s a hinge and clip on one that doesn’t align. Very comfortable and look more expensive than they are.”
Another added: “Sturdy frame. Lovely colour! Cushions have great padding and are comfy. Slight disappointment with the quality of the make. Must have been the batch – misaligned, some hinges would not close due to increased tension from the misalignment of the frame. Not a huge difference in quality to similar and cheaper pieces. I would have returned the product, however, my partner wanted to avoid the hassle.”
