Better Homes and Gardens serves up spicy roasts, noisy cavoodles and a touch of Bridgerton glamour
Channel 7’s Better Homes and Gardens is mixing comfort food, pet problems, stylish DIY and stunning scenery in this week’s episode, with the team heading from the kitchen to the coast of New Zealand.
Clarissa is putting a fresh spin on the traditional family roast with her take on a tandoori roasted leg of lamb. Marinated in a homemade tandoori paste and paired with a carrot, orange and fennel salad, the dish brings Indian-inspired flavours to a winter classic.

Meanwhile, Dr Harry is called in to help tackle a noisy problem involving cavoodles Bella and Teddy. Owners Jeneane and Mark say the dogs become uncontrollable every time Mark walks through the door, shrieking and barking in excitement. Despite trying multiple methods to calm them down, the couple says nothing has worked, prompting Dr Harry to investigate what is driving the over-the-top reactions.
Over in the world of home styling, Juliet embraces the return of chinoiserie, the decorative style inspired by European interpretations of Chinese design. Taking inspiration from the lavish interiors seen in Bridgerton, she transforms a plain flat-pack cabinet into a decorative statement piece using wallpaper offcuts, wooden trim and craft hoops.
For garden lovers, Graham travels to Akaroa, the oldest French settlement in New Zealand, to explore the remarkable Fishermans Bay Garden. Set within an ancient volcano, the coastal garden was created by landscape designer Jill Simpson and her husband Richard, a dairy farmer who originally owned the property. The pair now live there full time, with the garden blending rugged natural beauty and carefully planned design.
Better Homes and Gardens airs on Seven and 7plus on Friday, 22 May at 7.00pm.
