There were five or so in there, and I got pix of these two.
Very happy, as we had to have the pond fully relined over the winter and I was a bit worried the newts wouldn't come back. Hurray!!

Oh to be a newt, floating about my day in a pond.
that’s cool! newts can be such a neat part of a garden routine. hope they stick around!
I go through a period of mild panic every spring until I start to see them.
I’m so jealous.
