With warmer weather on the way, homeowners will be keen to make the most of the sunshine while it lasts. Aldi is due to release a selection of new garden furniture pieces in stores from Thursday, May 21, costing a fraction of what some homeware stores charge.

Liverpool is set to be hotter than Ibiza next week as warm weather returns. After a rather wet and mild week, Thursday (May 21) is set to be a much-improved with sunny spells and highs of 22°C followed by 24°C heat on Friday and a low chance of showers.

With this in mind, people may be considering purchasing extra chairs for the garden. Aldi’s latest Specialbuy update features a range of items that could help avoid overspending while replacing any weathered or dilapidated chairs from last year.

For £24.99, customers can purchase a Folding Recliner in either black or grey. The individual chair will be available in the Specialbuy aisles from Thursday, May 21, reports the Mirror.

Aldi bosses said: “Experience ultimate comfort and convenience this summer. Perfect for relaxing outdoors anytime.”

The “space-saving” seat with “multiple reclining positions” that lock into place appears similar to another option available at Dunelm. Currently available, the Helsinki Reclining Sun Lounger Chair at Dunelm is priced at £35.

Available in four colours, including a shade of charcoal almost identical to Aldi’s version, the homeware retailer’s bosses said: “This lounger redefines outdoor comfort, inviting you to unwind in luxurious tranquillity. The adjustable backrest allows for personalised reclining positions, ensuring optimal comfort for lounging or soaking up the sun’s rays.

“Constructed with durable materials designed to withstand outdoor conditions, this lounger will provide longevity without compromising on style or comfort.” Budget-conscious shoppers could choose Dunelm’s bundle deal featuring two chairs for £65 (working out at £32.50 per chair) — though this option comes in just one colour.

Aldi’s summer Specialbuy range also features another £25 option for enjoying the sunshine that “looks similar to a £115 B&Q version”. The Garden Design String Chair could be considered a direct rival to B&Q’s £114.99 Garden Chair Rattan Blue by Beliani.

Both pieces of furniture share striking design similarities, with both retailers choosing string chairs in a summer-ready blue shade. But, the Aldi version comes in considerably cheaper than the furniture on offer at B&Q.

So, while some shoppers may favour the pricier chair, given the differences between the two products, the Aldi furniture could prove a real winner for those watching their pennies.
