My kid’s friend says this is a type of clover and that they can eat the flower petals. Wanted to confirm as it doesn’t look like any clover I’ve seen and want to make sure there is no issue to the kids eating.
Clover, popular with bees. If you pull the petals (they are little tubes) you can suck the nectar out of them, it’s a very tiny amount but you can taste the sweetness.

When we were kids, my friends and I would pull out petals and nibble the tiny bits of sweet nectar from their closed ends. Decades later, I still do this when inspired to recall those simple things that made us happy back in the “olden days”.

Clover and the tiny white bottom of petal has a sweet taste. We don’t eat it but kids like to put it on their tongues. Technically edible if you are really hungry or if you are a rabbit
