Wimborne Gardening Club has had a busy May with a series of successful events.

At the club’s May meeting, more than 50 members enjoyed a presentation by David Bassil, who demonstrated how to plant hanging baskets.

Two of these baskets were later raffled, raising more than £70 for club funds.

The club’s planning group also set up a publicity table at the Allendale Community Centre open day on May 17.

Two days later, more than 40 members went on a coach trip to the RHS Gardens at Wisley.

The next monthly meeting is set for Monday, June 1, at St Catherine’s Church Hall, starting at 7.30pm.

The meeting will feature Stephen Brown, who will discuss the decline in Dorset butterflies and how gardening can help, covering topics such as practical tasks and planting.

The club has extended an open invitation to both members and non-members.

Full details of future events, including the late summer show at the Allendale Centre on Saturday, September 5, are available on the club’s website.

The club hopes for widespread participation to make the show enjoyable for all.
