Lake County Master Gardeners will explore the topic of gardening as one ages during a free program at 2 p.m. June 8 at Mentor Public Library’s Lake Branch, 5642 Andrews Road in Mentor-on-the-Lake.

Gardening may become more difficult as people age. However, the master gardeners will recommend tools and techniques that keep the practice possible and enjoyable, according to a news release.

The program is free to attend, but due to limited space, registration is required. Sign up at www.mentorpl.org or by calling 440-257-2512.

For those interested in gardening, the Mentor library also has a Seed Library. Patrons can check out free vegetable, flower, fruit and herb seeds from the library’s Main, Lake, and Headlands branches. The seeds are free, and patrons can borrow up to 15 packets per season, the release stated.
