Micro greens got shredded by caterpillars so I had a reduced yield, learning experience.

I’m pretty happy overall with this first harvest, but does anyone know why my radishes are so inconsistent? I see other posters with perfect round roots, whereas mine are much thinner and long.

These were grown in my raised bed that gets full sun, the soil mix is fairly woody. Perhaps they had a hard time growing large because the soil wasn’t soft and fine enough?

No answer but I am also kind of new to gardening and have had the same experience with radishes. I will say leaving them in longer def helps, and since some of yours are pretty big I’d say the soil is probably okay. Try leaving them in longer, although that does mean that it’s hard to pick them at the same time so it is kind of your choice

Cut the bottom inch off the onions and stick them back in the dirt for more onions.

Radishes needed a little more time.

My first year growing radishes as well. What did they look like when you harvested? You might’ve just got them too early. My best ones had shoulders that were basically .25-.5inches above the soil.

For what it’s worth my radishes in containers grew better than my raised beds too

I sow root crops too thick sometimes, but I always keep them fairly dense. I pick the ones that are ready and leave the ones that aren’t. To me, the seed packet harvest date is just a suggestion. It really depends on soil, light, water, etc.
