You have created such a magical garden and it’s so lovely to have a window to see in … I bought your (& Sam Cooper’s) book ‘How To Grow Food’ and it’s a fabulous book. Well done Huw!!! You’ve been doing this for years. Great how you share your passion 🥰
No truer words ever spoken in the gardening world: every gardener is an expert in weed growing."
Thank you , im going to show my husband because this is how we need to utilize every space trees and all , he like cutting trees , no I say utilize them , you have the perfect set up and I thank you😊😊😊😊😊
Looking lush! NGS next year? Bendigedig! It's in my diary ❤. Love the tree guild and hen composting set up. Do you sell the Comfrey Bocking 4 plants? Need to add them to the garden for our girls. Diolch yn fawr.
Lol I'm an expert weed grower for sure this year! Dozens of dandelions, foxgloves, brambles and nettles…yay. I'm leaving the dandelions but attacking the rest. I wish I could give you my foxgoves. I've had to pull dozens this month so far. They're highly toxic and I have dogs who treat the yard like a salad bar, so I can't risk them eating it. I hate removing something the bumblers like but I won't risk my dogs. They've gotten stung by nettle and caught on brambles so now begins that battle. But I've got much less of those this year and smaller. Last year I pulled 3 bramble vines about 11 to 12 feet long- no lie. So far my tallest has been 2 feet and I'm yanking them as fast as I can. They don't produce fruit.
We got off to a later start- but we have cold night temps still. Not freezing but effing cold- I'm out in a winter coat still. So far, just 2 buckets of potatoes have sprouted and my strawberries are flowering, even with the cold nights. We've sowed zucchini, carrots, celery and lettuce so far but no action yet. We're staggering the sow this year, and have 2 more weeks til the next.
I prefer long form videos. I have an attention span longer than a gnat and enjoy seeing the garden and learning. It's great seeing all the changes, and the long-term plants too. I can imagine how great it must smell in the garden.
Huw, I hope you never stop sharing your garden diary. These stroll and update videos are my favorite. It feels like a walk through your garden with a good friend. Thank you for sharing!
Yohoo! Finally back!
Thanks. I ❤ long format videos from you.
We passed our last frost last night. Time to plant summer crops. Thanks for your encouragement to continue to grow.
Glad you're back- like longer form
long format is more than welcome. Would even love a live webcam by your pond to see it start to attract and generate wildlife!
I'm an expert weed grower. Oh, wait.
I prefer the long form videos. It’s like a visit with a friend.
Are you sure it’s not “Ewiger Kohl” (Perpetual Cabbage).
Yippee! Welcome back!
Great, you now have a water tight office space whoop 👍& wishing you best of luck with the not dying plants lol😄 your garden is magnificent! & thank you for sharing 🩵 🌼🌺🌹
Great for the update. Nice to see the whole site. Look forward to the projects and perhaps visiting next year. 💚 to see the kitchen garden after following your raised bed adventure
Love the content Huw! We are on the Aberdeenshire/Moray border and are just starting out so are watching everything with great interest. Its pretty wild where we are so we are trying to introduce some organisation into the chaos…love the living willow fence, thats something we will be doing in winter..or at least planting and transplanting willow, damson, hawthorn and hazel to create hedgerow corridors for wildlife. We are putting in a multitude of shrubs transplanted from around the property, like gooseberry, currants, snowberry and wild roses and honeysuckle to make it more interesting and like hedges we knew in our childhoods. When I say we are just starting, I mean the vegetables, as my sister has been replanting clearcut plantations for over 25 years and, we just decided it was time we actually used part of the garden and our polytunnel to actually grow food!
In this video, I like the group of hen. They are standing around you 🐓🐤🐔
When you would ship to Spain? I would love that 🫣
Great !!!
Do yall sell your excess yeilds?
😊 You obviously have more fun to randomly show us around and so do we! More long diaries, please❤.
Beautiful garden!
BTW there is NO PLAYLIST at the end of the vid…someone must have forgotten to put it in;)
Hens and Dad jokes absolutely wonderful video.
I love long form garden tours!
Thanks, very inspiring. I was feeling a bit down about the lack of plants in my garden and you've re-ignited my creativity to enrich my planting. I wonder where you got the Bocking 4 ? Also could you explain your chicken system a bit more? Cheers.
💘💘💘
Great to see you at Malvern….you were great!
Love the longer videos.
Any chance of bunching/potato onions in the shop for next year?
Another lovely video. I love the longer formats. 🪴 🙂
Looks like a lot of great projects. I look forward to seeing how the food forest turns out.
So glad to have your diaries error diary back and I enjoyed the length of your video. Can't wait for the next diary entry.
Wow! What an amazing thing you've created. So full of beauty. Congratulations.
Hello Huw, I lay under the table, laughing out loud, when you twisted your tongue over the word „Ewiger Kohl“😂. It’s a German word and not really a name. It means only forever kale 🤷♀️🤪.
I love your videos and also your Raptors (Dinosaur) – popular term in Germany for 🐔, and Elvis is the absolute correct naming for this wonderful boy 🤩. I am gardening in the north of Germany (sorry for my terrible English) in 3000 squaremetres ground, mostly flowers, a little bit of vegetables and soooo many weeds 😉🤪.
Greetings, Andrea 👩🌾
