Ladysbridge and District Flower and Garden Club will visit Susan Turner’s garden, near Dungourney, Co Cork, on May 23 at 2.30pm. Members only.

Glenville Flower & Garden Club will host Magda from Tirlan Garden Centre, Castlelyons Branch with a talk on plants. She will also have plants for sale on the night. THe event takes place at the Holy Family Centre on May 26 at 8pm. Raffle & refreshments.

Cork Alpine Hardy Plant Society will host a talk by Millie Souter, head gardener at The Plant Library, Tom Stuart Smith Studio, in Hertfordshire, on May 28 at 8pm. Millie will deliver a lecture entitled “Introduction to the Plant Library and growing in sand”. There will be a members’ plant sale. The event will take place at Scoil Mhuire Naofa, Station Road, Carrigtwohill, Co Cork, T45PF80. Visitors, €10.

Bord Bia Bloom’s landmark 20th year promises five unforgettable days at the Phoenix Park, Dublin. With 20 spectacular show gardens from top Irish and international garden designers, 14 postcard gardens, 17 plant nurseries and floral artists, two brand-new horticulture and gardening features, 35 interactive talks and demos on the garden stage and much more. Ireland’s largest gardening festival promises another buzzing five days. Bord Bia Bloom will take place from May 28 to June 1, from 9am-6pm each day.
