Just sharing a photo of the first blooms on my regular compacta. I was given this as a little start about five years ago. There is another peduncle starting to bud as well.
I am so nervous about chopping and propping my compactas for some reason. I don’t have this issue with any other plant or variety. This plant has two ropes and the longest one is at least 2.5 feet long. I wonder when I will become brave enough to chop it. Not today is my best guess. Ha!

So pretty! I hope to bloom one of these someday. I was worried about propping this one too but it ended up going much more smoothly than I expected. I propped in different mediums just to experiment and was successful with all of them. I had to remove leaves on the bottom stem for some of them so that hurt a little 😅
