What's going on? He sits in distilled water, and has hours of lighting from Sansi lights. Why is it brown? I have great luck with Nepenthes, but this is my problem child. Any advice would be so appreciated!

Too much direct light/heat will burn sundews. I have learned this the hard way a couple of times. They can acclimate eventually, my round leaf did, but it will take several weeks of very slow movement closer to the light source. Some will only ever be happy with indirect light. I would move it farther away from the light to reduce heat and brightness.

Also, it looks a bit water logged. The soil should feel like a sponge, kind of bouncy, with some resistance. If it’s too wet it could cause the roots and/or crown to rot. Typically, for that size pot, I’d have no more than an 1” of water in the tray and let the tray dry out for up to a day in between watering.

They can be dramatic but sundews usually rebound well and can survive extraordinary circumstances.
