We have a native gardening (planted about 2 months ago) and everything is thriving except for this grevillea sun-kissed waters, it seems the side with non direct sun is healthy and green, however the direct sun side is looking brown,

Is it not enough water? I try to water 1-2 times a week when there’s been no rain,

We are in the northern suburbs of Melbourne and I know the ground has a lot of clay, maybe I didn’t dig down deep enough also?

Any assistance would be helpful, it was not a cheap plant/tree/thing lol

Should I also cut the browning stems or will new leaves grow?

I’m sorry I don’t have answers for you but I also have planted a grevillea that has been very slow to grow so hoping I can learn something from others responses ❤️

Perhaps grab a soil PH testing kit to start with.

I’m based in SA with clay dense soil, regular grevilleas have all thrived, banksias have all died. I’m yet to risk a standard grevillea due to the additional price.

Whatever you do, don’t use seasol or other non native fertiliser. Also avoid watering directly onto the leaves of the plant.

Hard to say, they do often struggle with being moved etc. The big stake jammed against the trunk and shibari arrangement you have wouldn’t be helping though.

That liiks sick. I just water mine & give a little feed of soluble fertiliser every few months.

If you need to replant try ‘Ned Kelly’, mine was fast growing & flowers all year.
