Shoppers say these chairs ‘brighten the garden'(Image: Dunelm)

Dunelm has unveiled a striking new garden chair and with summer fast approaching, customers are rushing to snap up the ‘great feature chair’ before stocks run out. As part of the retailer’s partnership with designer Sophie Robinson, the Pavilion Carnation and Watermelon Garden Chair lives up to its bold and bright name.

According to buyers, it instantly brings ‘a splash of colour’ to any outdoor area, boasting an elegant acacia wooden frame complemented by orange and pink striped wicker weaving. The chair features a PU varnished coating for weather resistance – essential for the UK’s changeable climate.

Priced at £69, customers are praising it as ‘excellent value for money’. In our view, it appears far more premium than its price tag suggests, while the unique design sets it apart from anything else currently available.

That said, there are alternative colourful garden seating options for those seeking something different. Debenhams is offering a complete Metal Bistro Chair and Table Set in vibrant pink, reduced to £69.99 from £119.99.

Buyers appreciate that the furniture can be collapsed flat and arrives ‘already assembled’. By contrast, Dunelm’s garden chair is ‘a bit tricky to assemble on own’, one customer noted, though this didn’t detract from it being ‘a beautiful design/colour’ and ‘great quality’.

Another Dunelm customer found assembly straightforward, saying: “These chairs and the table are very easy to put together and look very stylish and colourful on my patio when most of my garden plants have yet to bloom. I also bought the cushions which make these chairs very comfortable. Would highly recommend,” reports the Mirror.

For those who favour the striped design, The Range’s Esme Solar Bistro Set could be an excellent choice. At £149.99 for two chairs and a table, the collection boasts a delightful and playful appearance, while offering comfort through its padded cushions.

Dunelm’s Pavilion Carnation and Watermelon Garden Chair is also praised for its comfort, with one reviewer noting: “Lovely bright and comfortable chairs that really brighten up my patio.”

Another shopper echoed these sentiments, commenting: “Really attractive chair, the wood frame is really well made, and the colours are great. Comfortable too.”

In a balanced five-star review, one person observed: “A comfortable and compact chair. The relatively narrow width makes it ideal for smaller spaces and it’s stylish enough to perform double duty inside a garden room or summer house. Would be fantastic to see a folding version of this.”

A recurring observation among customers is how Dunelm’s garden chair elevates an outdoor area from ordinary to impressive with minimal fuss. One shopper noted: “Really brightens up the garden, super comfy and beautiful chair.” While another remarked: “Love them great quality love the colours and look great in the garden.”
