Is this normal for multiple to grow from one tuber? My other dahlia decided to grow way from the middle where I had originally planted it and she’s only had one grow from its tuber. Should I repot them or just go ahead and plant them in the ground? Also watching them grow has been something else entirely. I thought my lilium was the most interesting plant I’ve grown but these dahlias said “hey let me stress you out by not growing at all in the month I was planted. But hey surprise imma start growing faster the moment you get depressed about killing me😁”

This is an automatic reminder regarding r/dahlias Rule 3:

When reasonable*, posters should make a good-faith effort to identify which variety/varieties are shown in their photo(s). If you don’t know for certain, please say so. Someone will usually know!

*Common-sense exceptions to this rule will be honored, such as if the photo does not contain a blossom, or if your photo contains large volumes (such as in wide field shots).

If you’ve already done this, thank you! No further action required.

If not, please add a reply to this comment and confirm if you know the name of your dahlia variety/varieties shown in the photo(s). Alternately, if you’re uncertain of the variety name(s), it’s ok to say that, too.

Yes! Multiple shoots from one tuber is totally normal. I would either repot them in a larger pot, or plant them in the ground!

It depends. If multiple sprouts are emerging from the tuber in the same pot, it can signify gall.
As Sid, these pots re way too small.
