hi y’all – my papa passed about two weeks ago & i inherited almost all of his houseplants ( as my nana is not a plant girly )
all of them went into isolation, but this is the only one that is throwing me for a whirl.
i’ve never had a plant like this & i’ve never seen these spots.
all of the other plants appear to be bug / spot free besides this one. i’ve already repotted the others ( as nana over watered them ) this one is semi-dry.
it was in a front facing window & got light throughout most of the day.
i am nervous to incorporate this specific plant into the rest of my collection, as i dont want any infection to be brought in.
any advice is appreciated, thank you!

hi, first of all, i’m sorry about ur papa and that you had to go through that.
i’m 99% sure this is purely cosmetic issue, the plant is trying to communicate that it’s experiencing environmental stress, if you’ve moved the plant over to ur house or maybe your nana wasn’t watering properly (like u mentioned earlier) or even if you’re experiencing a cold draft where you live, it could just cause this.
as a precaution i would just keep it away from the others just incase, continue to treat it normally and see if its condition worsens, 9 times out of 10 it won’t, my swiss cheese plant has similar markings on his leaves and has done for a while now, and i’ve never had any pest issues or anything beyond cosmetic.
but i’m not a plant genius, it may be worth asking google or maybe showing this photo to a specialist (maybe at ur local garden center). best of luck to your plant, and i’m wishing you and your family strength and peace in this dark time.
