Just cleaned up this nursery juniper I recently purchased. It was a huge mess but I could see it had a nice nebari so decided to get it since it was pretty cheap. Looking to eventually do a semi or full cascade since thats basically how it was trained. This was taken before I removed some of the branches on the bottom right and I have a jin on the backside. Had to repot it into a mesh basket as the roots were circling the nursery pot like crazy.
Think it will eventually make a really nice bonsai 🙂

The downward movement starts way too high for this to be a cascade ore semi cascade. It needs to start heading down within the first couple inches above the base. You will need to do some significant wiring if that is the direction you want to go
Check out this tour with Mike Pistello, he grows lots of junipers. I think yours is set up great for a tall central sacrifice branch to thicken it up, and wire the small lower branches into an awesome twisted compact shape
