I put my first paludarium together for vampire crabs, but that’s about a month out when I introduce them. I’m planning a 20 gallon for fire bellied toads, and I’m wondering if I can house 3 froglets in here until the new tank is done.
Currently only isopods and springtails inhabit the tank right now but the land/water split is set-up for vampire crabs not fire bellied toads. Only reason to get the frogs now is I’m in Canada where availability is quite low and expensive, but I’ve found some now.
Let me know if anything sticks out that would prevent the froglets survival (the lid is the biggest concern and will sorted out).

How small? The answer is maybe — tight fitting lid is a must as babies climb better.
Any way for them to get into the guts of the tank? And also small crevices that they could squeeze into?(less likely but ive had drownings this way)
If they are on crickets then thats probably ok ish, if they on fruit flies still id made a minimalist tank to ensure proper feeding and to keep a better eye on them.
Id also add additional ways out of the water with better angles to be extra sure. And a rock that sits just under the water(1 cm of water above) like a ledge.
Are your params set for vamps cuz they have kinda different water requirements iirc. Could be an issue. Im also pro uvb especially when young tho most peeps say fbts dont need it
They will climb as high as they can, they will squeeze into anything they can, they will attempt to move any rocks/dirt they can
Mostly yea it seems ok with all these things in mind

I recommend keeping fire bellies, particularly babies, in water shallow enough for them to reach the bottom.

Not really; they sit in shallow water.
