    Hard to tell what you have by the roots. Any pics of the leaves? Also, bindweed roots are white and 2-4mm, so it’s not that : )

    Just looking closer and taking it apart a bit it’s woody, I think there may have been a shrub or tree there at some point

    Is this a dock by any chance? I think it might be dock with some dandelions mixed in. You’ve done the best thing by digging it all up anyway.
