This week at Sugarwood, an unexpected phone call changed my plans completely. With only two days to prepare, I found myself cleaning the kitchen, gathering ingredients, getting our old New England home camera-ready, and preparing for something a little outside my comfort zone.

Along the way, there were hummingbirds to feed, coffee to blend, garden plans to rethink, chimney work underway, a little sketching beneath the lilacs, and a quick stop for garden inspiration.

A simple weekend at home suddenly became something quite unexpected, and I’m bringing you along for the behind-the-scenes moments.

  1. Happy Mother's Day (for single dads too!) if you are reading this on Sunday. Thank you for joining me today! If you have a moment I would love to hear what type of home, craft, garden, projects, both inside and out, or travel destinations you would like to see this coming year. I'm working on my idea list and I would love your input.

  2. Like so many viewers I just love your videos. It makes my day. I can only imagine how wonderful your lilacs are going to smell. So exciting that you will be on tv! My only disappointment is that it will probably be east coast only! Or will it? Anyway, you deserve all good things coming your way.

  3. Monday sounds like a wonderful opportunity. I'm sure you will do great. 😊 I love your little kitchen garden area. What a peaceful space.

  4. I enjoyed today’s video I know you will be great tomorrow I love seeing the changes you make when something doesn’t work for you I’m watching older videos you have made and the way Sugarwood has evolved I find myself saying out loud, “Oh,I remember when it was that way.”

  5. Have you thought about trying an Ember mug. The mug gets charged and keeps your coffee warm for over an hour. I’ve used one for years. No pretty mugs but the trade off is worth it.

  6. I learned a method to clean the oven glass from "Kevin Lee Jacobs" channel. Spray oven door with oven cleaner and place a piece of plastic wrap over it. Let it sit for awhile. Ws la!! wipe clean!

  7. You are a natural… just think of how many viewers you have now!! You always make your audience feel as if they are right at the kitchen table with you. So, go for it!!! And… Happy belated Mother’s Day🌿🌷🌸🍃

  8. I love my coffee. It calms me in the mornings as well. I start with a razor scraper before I clean the glass oven door. Less scrubbing and it doesn’t scratch the glass.

  9. Thinking of you this morning and hoping you have a lot of fun with your project for TV this morning. I hope those of us not living in New England can get a peek at it!

  10. Oh HOW EXCITING!!! i can only hope that this turns into a weekly broadcast, and that it is syndicated so that we can watch it in ohio! Your home is so lovely. I hope this goes well. Just relax!

  11. Another wonderful video – love all the updates and tidbits. You’re a natural for tv! That shop, Sonder, looks YUMMY!!!

  12. Love seeing the vision of the barn and landscape come alive! And I love the front herb garden. Like many others, I, too, get inspiration watching your videos.

  13. Here is another tip for cleaning your glass oven door or your glass door on your wood stove and it really works.
Get a damp cloth dip it in your Ash from your wood stove and start scrubbing, you'll be amazed how clean it cleans the glass doors.

  14. Congratulation!!! I'm so happy and excited for you about the TV station coming to your beautiful home. You are a very gifted person. That is so kind and helpful to everyone. Enjoy
