I picked up some succulents from target a couple months ago now. I was shocked when they changed from green to such gorgeous colors, and I've been chasing that high since lol.
But I haven't seen any of these at places like home depot. Seems like they have a select few and don't stray from those. Is it maybe a seasonal thing or potentially just their specific line of succulents?
I ordered a decently priced bundle off eBay, 12 for $18, but I think they will be colorful already when they arrive. I'm interested in finding ones to surprise me with their colors again! :')
(Also the etiolated one came like that)

Yeah, all of the time. It depends on the vendor, Altman and Costa send rare stuff out all of the time. They send tephros, pachypdodiums, sulcorebutias, euphorbias, etc. I wouldn’t expect much from Target though. You can look at local nurseries too.
Depends how rare you consider rare but they carry some less common ones for sure, especially some nicely colored ones but sometimes it can be hard to tell due to the state of the plants. If they’re not getting enough sun they all turn green and start to have a similar leaf shape. I think the rarest thing I’ve found was an echeveria laui or variegated bear paws.
Yes! But sometimes they dont look like “anything special” when they’re in the stores/nurseries without the correct care. I’m super annoying and stand there and look up each kind I see that I dont know so I know what they could potentially look like before buying (which sometimes means I have to take pictures and run them through an ID app because a lot of them arent labeled) 😂
