    Squirrels. Woodpeckers. I’ve witnessed both backing stones up a tree before. Don’t understand why, but my guess is a moisture barrier of some sort.

    According to the tree company… the rocks appear too large for squirrels. Im amazed that they have broken chainsaws on this. I hope they can finish the job.
