Last year we found some Mustang grapes on our fence line. This spring I went to cutting out the poison ivy it’s intermixed with and am trying to coax it on to a trellis.
Anyone have any luck trellising wild grapes? Do’s or don’ts? Just winging it and ran out of scrap lumber so thinking on design.

    Great discovery by the way.
I personally never tried to grow them (always wanted too), but think using a trellis would be okay. Have to make sure it’s strong enough to support the potential weight. Have seen someone use the old clothes line method as a trellis before.

Understand they like well draining soil and full sun from what I’ve read.
Muscadine grapes are amazing. Only ate them and know a few who made wine from them at various times. It’s good stiff all around.
