Planting glorious blooms is one thing, but when night falls how do you create an inviting ambience in your garden? To me, it all comes down to lighting – and I’ve been on the hunt for budget-friendly solar options that I can rely on as summer approaches.
After plenty of research, I’ve settled on my top contenders: Amazon’s EpicGadget solar flower light and Lidl’s Livarno solar blossom light. Thanks to built-in solar panels, both charge up in sunny weather and automatically turn on at dusk – and both are under $10.

Why You Need Decorative Solar Lights This Summer

When it comes to backyard lighting, the options are practically endless. Solar ground lights (like these from Walmart) are ideal for pathways and lawns, while solar lanterns (like this pair from Amazon) can elevate a patio or deck.
Yet stake lights like Lidl’s are, in my view, particularly versatile: they bring instant charm to any area of your yard, and you can even show them off in planters or raised beds. Invest in a few different options and you can create the most gorgeous ambience.
Solar lights are a brilliantly low-maintenance choice since you don’t need to fuss over cords, wires or power sources. Lidl’s Livarno lights will automatically flicker to life at dusk, for example, though they can be turned off manually if required.
Naturally, you might be questioning whether solar lights are really worth it if your area isn’t known for sunny weather – but the beauty of options like these is that they add a decorative touch to your yard, no matter whether they’re lit or not.
I was drawn to these lights not only because they’re a practical choice, but also because they look so charming. Whimsical garden ideas have been on mind since the first signs of spring: I’m desperate to create a space that feels truly enchanting, and there’s no better investment than fairytale-inspired lighting like this.
If you don’t feel tempted by the idea of a magical cottage garden, however, there are plenty of different options to choose from.
Alongside dragonflies, butterflies and flowers, Lidl’s Livarno lights are also available in a more contemporary globe design, and if you’re looking for a similar style, you can try these solar starburst lights from Amazon. You can also go down the traditional route and choose solar string lights, like this set from Wayfair.

Bring a woodland theme and a gentle pop of color to your yard with this stake light from Terrain. Each one features five glowing bees.

Modern look
These globe lights are designed to line your garden path, but I think they would look just as striking in raised beds or planters.
