Howdy All!
Located in central Minnesota and want to hang a swing from a mature maple tree. I would like input from this community. I understand pictures can only tell so much and advice given is not in stone.
1) Thoughts on the branch to use in pictures: would you trust branch to hold swing with two kids up to 200 pounds total?
2) If no, thank you for your time!
3) If yes, what type of anchoring system would you recommend? And what type of swing?

I would be suggesting some end weight reduction of that branch to counteract the additional loading.
I dont have the knowledge to give more than a gut feeling on something like this, but I can tell you that the information needed here will be along the lines of:
1. How thick is the branch you want to hang the swing from.
2. How far from the trunk is the hang point.
Id do it. Not up to date on current ropes course tech, but ive had good results with a simple webbing loop loose over the branch attached to chain. Probably not optimized, but also doesnt get much use..
