
The compost is comprised of cut straw that was used as chicken coop bedding. Recently threw some dirt on the pile and mixed it in a bit, got these mystery mushrooms a couple weeks later, any clue what they are?
I’m still a composting novice, any advice is appreciated!

Looks like inky caps. Coprinopsis atramentaria, but not 100%. r/mycology would be a better bet for a solid id.
Pile needs more greens. Add grass clippings, coffee grounds, or fruit and veggie scraps. Also, needs more moisture. Come on gang! Tell him what to use to wet that pile!
