I went shopping at a huge Florida native plant nursery and bought a bunch of new wildflowers for my garden. See which plants I brought home and how I am tagging them before I plant them in my garden. Then watch as we spot a myriad of butterfly species as they visit my garden. Of course, there will be adorable caterpillars too. I also share a new plant that was gifted to me from one of my viewers that is a fabulous addition for my butterfly garden because it attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.

A monarch emerging from her chrysalis. A giant swallowtail spreading her wings for the first time. AND 12 brand-new Florida native wildflowers just arrived from the nursery โ€” it was quite a day in the butterfly garden!

Join me as I unbox and tag my new native plant haul, including a mystery aster, Chaya, and several wildflowers to attract more butterflies to my Florida Zone 10a garden. Plus โ€” we spot a rare Viceroy butterfly, watch Pipevine Swallowtail caterpillars multiply, and celebrate two beautiful butterfly emergences!

  1. Love the chaya! And the white peacocks love it in my garden. I had several of them die to the grown this past winter, but did come back at the base. That's a really great addition to your garden. ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ›๐Ÿฆ‹

  2. Pretend these are emojis. I love to walk my dog in the neighborhood where he samples other dogs messages and leaves messages, and I love to take my dog in the woods!!!

  3. I want to get the smoothie aster one day also. We have wild purple aster, but they are small, but vey cute, and calico, and that one like yours that blooms all over the place that is white and small.

  4. We have the silver leaf aster which looks like grass half the season. Also the Maryland yellow aster which has a good size flower and character with its curved stems. Itโ€™s really beautiful. Also the narrow leaves white top asteroid has a unique flower with some of the petals much longer and curved with a wild windswept look.

  5. Beautiful butterflies, caterpillars and flowers Susan! Thoroughly enjoyed this video! ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ›๐Ÿฆ“๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ–ค

  6. I managed to see a Tiger swallowtail butterfly in my yard while I was testing my sprinklers. I recently posted video on the butterfly on my channel. Make sure to check it out if you have not seen you.

  7. Hi Susan! I took a chance and was here at Plant Local when they openedโ€ฆsadly she said your pentas sold within 40 minutes of you dropping them off. ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿฅฒ I didnโ€™t want to waste the drive, so I picked up 3 other plants (butterfly pea, sneezeweed and rouge plant.)
    Iโ€™ll be back tho. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸŒธ

  8. Chaya is wonderful for butterflies. Mine died with the freeze but is coming back at the base. It was a wonderful looking tree full of butterflies ๐Ÿฆ‹

  9. I just looked it up to see if they have stock. It has in all caps "Not big enough for feeding" ๐Ÿ˜Š Some is better than none, I'll say.
