Hi! My plant is developing this discoloration on the white portions of its leaves. I had to move it away from the window because the older leaves were getting burned. It is now in a bright spot but does not receive direct sunlight. I also water by immersion when the soil is getting dry. The leaves looked healthy at first, but now they are starting to turn rusty. Appreciate any help. Thank you!

  1. Let me start by saying… gorgeous! Unfortunately the white parts of the plant suffer the worse because they don’t have the chlorophyll to photosynthesize the plant.

I have a monstera albo and the same thing happens to the white parts of the leaf. Good lighting and humidity do help, but that’s not always the case for everyone and not always the answer.

I know folks that had their plants start producing pure white leafs, where they did have to prune and cut back a lot of the plant, or it would die.

Also, these philodendrons can be very finicky. Don’t move them a lot, don’t overwater, don’t underwater, don’t have too many minerals in your water, etc etc. The spot that she is at now, just let her be. I don’t believe this is a you issue, as it is a White Night normality.
